Excellent presentation ........!!!
Wrap your brain around this one!

President Obama announced that over the next 90-days he is going to
work to cut 100-Million dollars of spending out of the Federal Budget.

A college student explains Obamanomics.
Very, VERY well done!

This is worth spending one minute and thirty eight seconds to watch!

Watch it for a couple of minutes.

Being a deficit-hawk is just asinine when you have these two elephants crapping all over your living room carpet.

But no one talks about that anymore.

Certainly not Dick Cheney, the guy who started them both.

At least it's a start. I remember a
guy at work complaining once when we had a job that looked like we would never finish. Another one said Do you know how you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.

Actually not a bad video, but its true meaning is lost on the wingnuts who forward it around as if its an indictment of Obama.

They rail against pork (at least when they are out of power) yet pork makes up almost none of the budget.

They rail against welfare and foreign aid, which again are basically rounding errors.

But they would never, never, ever consider the fact that most of that extra spending is due to Bush's idiotic wars and even more idiotic tax cuts.

And they would never consider the idea that maybe we could impose just a tiny increase in taxes on the richest 1% in order to cut into a big chunk of the deficit.

So it boils down to the typical Teabagger MO: complain bitterly about anything and everything Obama does, while at the same time refusing to offer any solutions or consider the real heart of the problem.

Yeah, it's a good video. Much of liberal ire toward Obama lately is because he tries to satisfy conservative naysayers with steps like that Administration budget cut the video mentions, or freezing pay for all federal workers, when that simply won't help.

Simply cutting is not as important as fixing our spending problems.

2/3 of the budget right now is Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and the military. Of those, Medicare is the one that will soar, along with all other medical costs in the U.S. unless we fix our broken health care system. Medicare just happens to be the tip of the iceberg we can see because it's in the federal budget, not buried in everyone's individual pay stubs.

Republicans' darling permanent tax cuts are another example. Here's a recent CBO report. Check out page 19 in the PDF. The first chart is if the tax cuts expire. Health care gradually consumes more and more of the country's wealth, while tax revenues (barely) keep up. The second chart shows the financial disaster if we keep the tax cuts. None of the problems are fixed, spending soars even higher, and the government doesn't have the money to pay for it.

So yeah, a $100 million budget cut doesn't seem so big now, does it?

All I ever hear from conservatives is "cut taxes," along with whining about the poor benighted Oligarchs, the upper 2%, who own close to 65% of the wealth in this nation.

I actually agree with John Boehner, who said recently that that govt spending is out of control. It is. But what Boehner & his T-tardz want to cut are Soc Sec (which, btw, is NOT a problem, sorry Valeyard), various social programs, cut govt workers pay, etc... yet keep spending like a drunken sailor on useless wars of aggression that it's been definitively proven that we were LIED to in the first place, and which are doing NOTHING in terms of making us "safer." If anything the wars are making us far less safe.

All the wars do is enhance and enrich the Oligarchy via their holdings in the Military Industrial Complex.

I'm all for making changes to govt spending and decreasing the size of the fed govt by: a) getting out of ALL wars in which the USA is presently engaged, b) significantly reducing the size of our military bases & other holdings world-wide, c) significantly reducing the pentagon's and military budgets, and d) enforcing BIDs for military contracts.

Unsurprisingly, I NEVER ever see Tea Partiers endorsing these viewpoints. They'd rather stand around and watch poor people starve and die on the streets. Go figure...
