FW: Governors of 35 states filed suit against Fed Government...IMPORTANT !!!!!

Subject: Governors of 35 states filed suit against Fed Government...IMPORTANT !!!!!

Governors of 35 states have already filed suit against the Federal Government for imposing unlawful burdens upon them.  It takes only 38 of the 50 States to convene a Constitutional Convention.
An idea whose time has come!
For years and years we have been complacent about the workings of Congress. Many citizens had no idea that members of Congress could:
1)Retire with the same pay after only one term.
2)Do not have to pay into Social Security.
3)Have specifically exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed (such as being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary citizens must live under those laws.
4) The latest is to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform in all of its forms.
I truly don't care if a senator or congressman is a Democrat, a Republican, or an Independent. The self-serving, self-interest must STOP.
PLEASE DO YOUR PART:
Contact a minimum of twenty people on your address list; in turn ask each one of them to do likewise.
In just days, most people in The United States of America will have the following message:
Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution:

"Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States ."
Take heart. We, the people, CAN take back our country and the principles upon which it was founded! Congress is NOT an elite organization. Every single one of them was elected to SERVE the people of this great country and it is time every single one of them understands this.
You are one of my 20.

With the Lord's help and yours, we'll get this taken care of.

Not one single governor has filed suit.

Not one single congressman is able to collect
full salary after one term.

Not one single member of congress can skip
paying into Social Security.

Not one single member of Congress is
exempt from Health Care Reform.

So gullible.

It is fraught with untruths, lies and innuendos. First off, ZERO Governors have filed suit against the Federal Government. That is the role of the Attorney Generals of states and thus far, 11 Attorney Generals have done so for various reasons.

Secondly, if anyone is actually politically involved or aware to ANY degree, they would know that the information pertaining to Members of Congress being able to collect their full salaries after serving one term is FALSE. Furthermore, Members of Congress have been required to pay Social Security Tax for 25 years now and they are NOT exempt from the recently passed Healthcare Reform Bill.

The IGNORANCE of the “conservative” American voting populace is frightening and to see this email continue in your circles for over a year shows not only your complete inability to check ANY facts, but live to pass fiction around to each other while believing you are doing some sort of good. Why do you waste so much energy with gossip?????? How about calling out specific Congressmen for things they screw up and bring THAT to light so they don’t get put back into office. Be smart. You’re like a bunch of bored juveniles looking for something to kick, but don’t know what.

One of the regulars here pointed out a while back that Democratic and/or leftie voters simply do not pass around ridiculous lying emails like this. Keith Olberman, amongst others, has highlighted on his show how most of this crap is written by various rightwing think tanks and then sent out on various email lists, plus twittered and facebooked and all the rest.

It is disheartening to realize that so many conservatives are willing to read spurious untrue gossip and then feel smugly self-satisfied that their "team" is somehow "better," and that all the evils reside on the other "team." I say "team" because it's clear that most conservatives see this a sporting contest... which is just the way that their corporate overlords want it.

Said it before but it's really disheartening, annoying and frustrating that conservatives wish to live in their own little "bubble" of fictional fantasy, where they waste their energies getting mad at phantom bullshite. There's plenty of stuff to get mad at and try to fix - on BOTH sides of the aisle. Would love to see these people put their energies behind doing something REAL for a change.

I think the final analysis is that these suckers are lazy fools who like to have their egos stroked.

Anyone hear of this group of 20 before? Certainly sounds like something with an organization behind it, as ferschitz has mentioned.

Hey, right-wingers, here's an idea: How about you actually try to improve the lives of American citizens instead of stirring up an angry mob every single day to fight against anything that might take some money out of your pockets?

As soon as I saw all the pretty colors, bold face scripts, etc. -- I realized it was probably too crazy to read so I saved myself 2 minutes and just went straight to the comments -- The comments here are always worth the time!

For people who claim to love America, they sure seem intent on taking it apart.

Hey Katz: good point.

But remember folks that a good 90% (at least) of drivel like this is written by rightwing think tanks. The extremist right in no way "loves America" in the traditional mom-and-apple-pie sense. The rightwing now is a big old corporation out to rape plunder and pillage as much as possible.

I do believe that conservative voters probably like to think that they love America. That's why it amazes me that they don't wake up just a little bit to see how much they've been "had" and how badly run this nation is... and it's not the "fault" of leftists, that's for darn sure.

Take a look at the trillions being squandered on 2 useless wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Do rightwingers REALLY believe these wars are "making us safe"?? Seriously?? Safe from what??? All these wars have done is INCREASE Al Qaeda membership and hatred of the USA by Muslims in the Middle East.

And all these wars have done is ENRICH the Bushes, the Cheneys, the Rumsfelds and their ilk. The Military Indus. Complex is out of control; really doesn't CARE at all whether we win or lose wars... in fact, if we cannot win the war, so much the better. It just means that the war goes on endlessly with TRILLIONs of tax dollars going directly into the pockets of the fat cats.

How the rightwingers canNOT see this remains a mystery to me, but it's clear that incendiary crap is sent out by rightwing think tanks to deliberately mislead and distract credulous rightwing serfs.

It's really a shame, and I really wish rightwing people would wake up to reality.

Anybody who has such command over the internets that they can write in that many colors must surely be telling the truth.

You want to know why this kind of stuff gets forwarded around? It's because the real American people are fed up with the garbage in our government. Let's look at some facts.

Starting salary for House & Senate members: $174,000.00. Average nationwide salary for college grads: $49,000.00.

Yearly scheduled work days for Congress: 108-137 which equates to $158-$201 per hour. Average salaried American - 240 days at $25 per hour.

Members of Congress are fully vested after serving only five years where the starting annual retirement amount may not exceed 80% of final salary. 80% are you kidding me!!

Members of Congress are eligible to receive their 80% at the age of 50 after serving 20 years. So how many of you complained that we bailed out Greece when their reitrement age is 52?

Members of Congress have been paying into Social Security since 1984 only because we had a real American as President (Reagan) and a Republican controlled Senate that passed Civil Service Retirement System that required members to do so.

Currently members of Congress are not exempt from the Healthcare Reform bill...however, the language in the bill allows them to pass an amendment to pretty much do whatever they want. Oh, and by the way, the original drafting by Ted Kennedy did exempt members of congress and only after Republicans went ballistic and brought it to the attention of the American people was the new language added.

Members of Congress are not exempt from Sexual Harrassment prosecution. Although it's easy to see why some might believe that is the case. Teddy Kennedy anyone? Oh yeah, that was just murder! Wonder how his spot in hell is working out for him.

And? Members of Congress are duly elected by their districts and States. They (usually) aren't fresh out of college, but rather are typically trained and experienced professionals in law, business, medicine, agriculture, military, and other fields. As much as we like to bitch and moan about them, they do control the largest budget in the history of the entire fucking world, so its probably ok that we pay them a relatively high salary (though a lot smaller than most could or would make in the private sector).

Congress is a 365 job. They are always visiting their districts, pressing the flesh, fund raising, speaking with citizens and lobbying organizations and negotiating in order to try and craft or defeat new legislation. Also, the process is deliberately designed to be slow. If you have a problem with that, take it up with James Madison.

Members of Congress are eligible to receive their 80% at the age of 50 after serving 20 years.

US military veterans receive a similar type pension after 20 years. Damn leeches. But honestly, how many are elected to Congress at 30 and retire at 50?

Members of Congress have been paying into Social Security since 1984 only because we had a real American as President (Reagan) and a Republican controlled Senate that passed Civil Service Retirement System that required members to do so.

No, there was already the CSRS, which was the pension system that all federal employees, including Congressmen, paid into. They didn't pay into SS, but they also didn't accrue any benefits for the times they didn't contribute.

As for that "real" American, how did you feel about his plans to eliminate Nuclear weapons? Or his massive deficits which ballooned the deficit? Or the Amnesty he gave to millions of illegal immigrants? Or the fact that he passed the biggest tax hike in history on the middle class?

Currently members of Congress are not exempt from the Healthcare Reform bill...however, the language in the bill allows them to pass an amendment to pretty much do whatever they want. Oh, and by the way, the original drafting by Ted Kennedy did exempt members of congress and only after Republicans went ballistic and brought it to the attention of the American people was the new language added.

There's nothing for them to be "exempt" from. They already have an insurance plan. The bill was designed to create insurance options for those who don't currently have any. The "going ballistic" was just a cynical ploy to confuse and exploit the idiots in the Republican base.

Members of Congress are not exempt from Sexual Harrassment prosecution.

Its a good thing they aren't exempt, otherwise Republican perverts like Foley might have gotten off for their rapist acts. Of course, there are still plenty of Republicans who committed sexual sins and suffered no consequences as a result. My favorite is Newt, who cheated on his cancer striken wife and then divorced her so he could marry his mistress. Funny how that never seems to come up in Republican circles.

Oh yeah, that was just murder! Wonder how his spot in hell is working out for him.

He's probably pissed that he got put in the same section as Reagan. I mean, Ted accidentally killed one innocent lady. Ronnie deliberately broke the law in order to allow thousands of innocents to be massacred.
