Fw: Unbelievable President (SG)]

Even workers get Workman's compensation when they get hurt on the job! Everyday, it seems, this president is revealing his value system. If anyone disagrees with his decisions then they are considered racists.

Unbelievable President
THIS HAS GOT TO BE THE MOST
OUTRAGEOUS STATEMENT EVER MADE
BY A PUBLIC OFFICIAL LET ALONE BY
THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED
STATES. AND THIS GUY IS
OUR "COMMANDER IN CHIEF".

HE IS A DISGRACE.

HERE IS HIS RESPONSE WHEN HE BACKED OFF FROM HIS DECISION TO LET THE MILITARY PAY FOR THEIR WAR INJURIES.

Bad press, including major mockery of the plan by comedian Jon Stewart, led to President Obama abandoning his proposal to require veterans carry private health insurance to cover the estimated $540 million annual cost to the federal government of treatment for injuries to military personnel received during their tours on active duty. The President admitted that he was puzzled by the magnitude of the opposition to his proposal.

"Look, it's an all volunteer force," Obama complained. "Nobody Made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks... Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice? It doesn't compute.." "I thought these were people who were proud to sacrifice for their country, "Obama continued. "I wasn't asking for blood, just money. With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit. I guess I underestimated the selfishness of some of my fellow Americans."

Please pass this on to every one including every vet and their families whom you know.

How in the world did a person with this mind set become our leader? I didn't vote for him!!!

REMEMBER THIS STATEMENT... "Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice?

If this A** thinks he will ever get another vote from an Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard service member or veteran of a military service he ought to think it over. If you or a family member is or has served their country please pass this to them. Please pass this to everyone.

I'm guessing that other than the 20-25 percent hardcore liberals in the US will agree that this is just another example why this is the worst president in American history. Remind everyone over and over how this man thinks, while he bows to the Saudi Arabian king and the Japanese Emperor.

BINGO!! I win! I KNEW we'd get a RWF immediately about the dreaded bow in Japan. Idiots.

Let us not forget that:

1. Nixon bowed to Chairman Mao in China
2. Eisenhower bowed to Charles DeGaulle in France
3. W bowed, kissed full on the lips and walked holding hands with King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia
etc.

Completely stupid, but hypocracy and double standards are how the right wing operates these days.

BHO did float out an idea in March about charging Vet's private insurance for war-related injuries, although it was never meant to preclude vets who needed medical assistance from getting it.

It was a dumb idea and perhaps insensitive and certainly a political football. BHO was criticized by Vets, and BHO dropped the IDEA right away. Not a good idea, but he dropped it.

The commentary attributed to BHO is FALSE and never happened. It is the FANTASY of a wingnut, hence proving (yet again) their ongoing war with reality. They love to create a completely fictional story and then get outraged about it and then pass it around as truth.

LIES and the lying LIARS that tell them.

As someone who both supported and then voted for Obama, I know that there are plenty of real, substantive reasons to criticize him. There have been mistakes, he's gone back on his word in a few areas, and in some ways he's a disappointment to those who voted him in. (Granted, that happens with all politicians and we knew it would happen with him.)

So why, oh why do they keep screaming about issues that don't matter or *make shit up*? Why do we get Hannity segments about Dijon mustard and Drudge headlines about Michelle's $40,000 ring and other totally fake incidents?

You want to argue that Obama doesn't support policies you support? Fine. You think he's wrong about something? Fine. Let's talk about those things. But instead they work themselves into a rabid frenzy over fake quotes and fake pictures, and when you point out the fake-ness of said outrage lighting rods, they say "Oh, yeah? Well it COULD have been true! That would have been JUST like them!"

Hibryd nails it.

Want to debate issues? Good, let's debate REAL
ISSUES.

Instead, like ferschitz alluded to, we get these
idiotic, fake BS "issues" being churned out by
think tanks and corporate hacks.

For the love of god, teabaggers...THINK for a
change, instead of just reacting like a frog
getting zapped with an electric current.

I saw a commentary somewhere else, like DailyKos or Firedoglake, which stated something to the effect that expecting the teabaggers to "think" for themselves and discuss issues "rationally" is foolish. They simply don't have the capacity to do that, and 30+ years of rightwing brainwashing has put the icing on the cake.

There ARE Republicans/right wing folks, who DO think and are mostly as appalled by this stuff as the left is. However, their voices aren't heard much, either.

The corporate media is paying millions to RushHannityOLielyBeck to lie & spin & lie & spin simply and solely to gin up this fake outrage. I suspect (but have no proof) that even some teabaggers must, by now, be starting to wonder or question the incessant outrage du jour. It's nuts, but it's ALSO DISTRACTING us from the very real conversations that we'd like to have.

Is BHO perfect? Hell no! And yeah, I am deeply disappointed by some stuff his Admin has either done or not done (as the case may be). But the corporations do NOT want intelligent discussions about REAL issues, and don't you ever expect it to happen. Our corporate overlords plan to make money. Period. The end.

The infuriation comes from teabaggers who DO buy into this stuff and keep on being led by the nose to shout & scream at ersatz, ginned up "protests" and town halls.

Note someone like Dede Scozzafava who got teabagged in the NY23 district. I saw her interviewed in several places, including RM. She seemed eminently reasonable - a typical old school Republican conservative - but sane. And now wierdo Glenn has convinced their spoiler, Hoffman, to "unconcede" the race.

WTF? How does one "unconcede"?

But it's a big distraction and another shiney object to wave in front of the masses, which includes us here on the left.

I think progressives, Democrats and lefties need to begin planning how to more effectively counteract this b.s. It's really much bigger and more important than "arguing" with teabaggers. In reality, teabaggers aren't the opponent.

It's about figuring out better ways to oppose the corporations who are funding this b.s. Think about it. Write letters to your editors. Consider how to plan a protest. And so on.

And while debunking the endless crap that comes through this blog is of use (because it shows what the corporations are doing), expecting teabaggers to "learn" is a pointless waste of time.

How can we fight against the machine of the corporations is the point!

We don't really need the teabaggers; FDR managed
to turn the country around and win a world war in
spite of the reactionaries screaming for his head.

We just need to win over the independents and
weed out the Blue Dogs. It's going to take a few
(perhaps many) election cycles, but we can do it.

That is, IF time allows. Time is no longer a luxury,
if it ever was.

wow. you are nothing but pure republican backwards churn. There is so much I want to say to you and so little you'll actually understand. So, in short... Get your act together.

I don't think they're racist because they disagree with Obama. I think they're racist because of the sheer stupidity of most of the attacks and the volume of attacks (anything and everything). Most of these claims are completely idiotic (birthers, deathers) and these people would not believe them if they were made about any of our previous presidents. So YA their brains are being affected by some other factor... so what could it be, his age (they never mention that oddly) his politics (he's more moderate than many libs like), lack of experience (they loved Palin!) no it is race and race alone, and they really hate that its so obvious.

Awww, I do like how Jon Stewart made it into this piece of fiction. <3

Dear god, are they stupid or evil? I can't decide. I can totally picture Obama, great speaker he is, calling America's veterans whiny and selfish.

re #2 comment by Ferschitz above: My wife and I were discussing the bow and how some RW web site had called it treasonous when a graphic came up on CNN. International poll response to "In general, can the US be expected to do the right thing?" was 37% just before the last election, and most current poll was 74%. Seems like people appeciate having their culture treated with respect.
