Fw: Fw: Social Security 2009

Politicians are like diapers ...they need to be changed regularly for the same reason.

I thought this was the kind of change America wanted that Obama was talking about when he was campaigning. I bet a lot of people thought the same thing, because they sure did vote him in to get a change. I woder if they're getting the kind of change that they expected or wanted. What do you think?
Social Security 2009
I COULDN'T forward this FAST enough.........!!

2010 is an election year for 1/3 of the senate and 1/2 of the house of representatives. It would be nice if congress got the message; the voting taxpayers are in charge now.

Social Security 2009

LET US SHOW OUR LEADERS IN WASHINGTON "PEOPLE POWER" AND THE POWER OF THE INTERNET. PLEASE FORWARD TO ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS.

IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU ARE REPUBLICAN OR DEMOCRAT!

KEEP IT GOING!!!!

Propose this in 2009:

START A BILL TO PLACE ALL POLITICIANS ON SOCIAL SECURITY

------------ --------- --------- ----

SOCIAL SECURITY:

(This is worth reading. It is short and to the point.)

Perhaps we are asking the wrong questions during election years.

Our Senators and Congresswomen
do not pay into Social Security and, of course, they do not collect from it.

You see, Social Security benefits were not suitable for
persons of their rare elevation in society. They felt they should have a special plan for themselves So, many years ago they voted in their own benefit plan.

In more recent years, no congress person has felt the need to change it. After all, it is a great plan.

For all practical purposes their plan works like this:

When they retire, they continue to draw the same pay until they die.

Except it may increase from time to time for cost of living adjustments. .....

For example, Senator Byrd and Congressman White and their wives may expect to draw $7, 800,000.00 (that's Seven Million, Eight-Hundred Thousand Dollars), with their wives drawing $275, 000.00 during the last years of their lives.
This is calculated on an average life span for each of those two Dignitaries.

Younger Dignitaries who retire at an early age, will receive much more during the rest of their lives.

Their cost for this excellent plan is
$0.00. ZIP!! NADA!!! ZILCH!!!

This little perk they voted for themselves is free to them.
You and I pick up the tab for this plan. The funds for this fine retirement plan come directly from the General Funds;

"OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK"!

From our own Social Security Plan,
which you and I pay (or have paid) into, every payday until we retire (which amount is matched by our employer ), We can expect to get an average of
$1,000 per month
after retirement.

Or, in other words, we would have to collect our average of $1,000 monthly benefits for 68 years and one (1) month to equal Senator Bill Bradley's benefits!

Social Security could be very good if only one small change were made.

That change would be to

Jerk the Golden Fleece Retirement Plan from under the Senators and Congressmen. . Put them into the Social Security plan with the rest of us

Then sit back.....

And see how fast they would fix it!

If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of awareness will be planted and maybe good changes will evolve.

How many people can
YOU send this to?

Better yet......

How many people
WILL you send this to ?

P.S. The same goes for their health plan

This message has been brought to you by the party
that tried to steal Social Security from you.

That sure is a lot of huge green writing. Must be true.

The colors! The colors!

This is an old one which has been debunked for years. But I guess if you blowup the font and add add a bunch of colors it makes it true?

I'm all for Congressfarts having no health care, so that they can experience what it's really like for US citizens trying to deal with health care, Big Insurance, Big Pharma, etc.

However, the social security nonsense... yeah, brought to you by the party that continues to try to cut soc sec and medicare and VA health care, etc.

Plus: those fonts! those colors! my eyes! wha...??

Sounds like a plan to expand SOCIALISM!!! by putting more people into the socialist Social Security System, but whatever.

A typical Republican response to this SHOULD BE: If folks are so jealous of congress' retirement package they should have run for congress." ---right??

On a more serious note: A friend who works for SS is constantly telling people to plan on SS covering about 1/3 of their total retirement needs. Please pass it on, as people seem to have an unrealistic expectation of SS.

Thanks, Bebe, for the tip. That is correct. All investment planners say the same thing. SS, if available, will only provide for about a third of what you need to survive as you age.

I am lucky enough to have a job with a fairly decent (and reasonably "safe") pension, and even that will NOT cover all my needs, including getting soc sec.

Adhere to the maxim: save, save, save.

They lost me at the second sentence which is a factually incorrect statement about the House.

1/3 of the senate every two years ALL of the house every two years.

Is it my imagination or has RWD text been getting bigger and bigger?

I have a new theory about the bizarro font colors and sizes.

These things are originally written in crayon. The jarring font selections are actually attempts at faithful electronic reproduction of the original texts.

It explains so much.

Can we add a "googlestupid" tag for a factual error so boneheaded that it would have been fixed with a quick Google? (In this case, the "half of the House is up for election" bit.)

Oh grendelkhan: why use teh googles when it's so much fun jest makin' up fects 'n stuff??? Teh googles is for pussy dimocrats, doncha kno? "Manly" neocons don't have to be bothered with silly stoooped fects.

But hey: I like the idea that posts like this one are copying from something initially hand-written with crayons! LOL! Explains a lot!!!
