Fw: Circle Flies

Subject: FW: Circle Flies

A cowboy from Texas attends a social function where Barack Obama is
trying to gather more support for his Health Plan. Once Mr. President
discovers the cowboy is from President Bush's home area, he starts to
belittle him by talking in a southern drawl and using mono-syllabic
words. As he was doing that, he kept swatting at some flies that were
buzzing around his head. The cowboy says, "Y'all havin' some problem
with them circle flies?" Obama stopped talking and said, "Well, yes, if
that's what they're called, but I've never heard of circle flies." "Well
Sir," the cowboy replies, "circle flies hang around ranches. They're
called circle flies because they're almost always found circling around
the back end of a horse." "Oh," Obama replies as he goes back to
rambling. But, a moment later he stops and bluntly asks, "Are you
calling me a horse's ass?" "No, Sir," the cowboy replies, "I have too
much respect for the citizens of this country to call their President a
horse's ass." "That's a good thing," Obama responds and begins rambling
on once more. After a long pause, the cowboy, in his best Texas drawl
says, "Hard to fool them flies, though."

Egads, these righties like to project.

This forward personifies George Bush to a T.

Is this what they're reduced to? Projecting every
Bush failure or quirk onto Obama while pretending
to themselves that Bush never even happened?

What sad little fools.

Good God, the distortions they had to make to this joke and reality in order to make it "fit."

Man, I really liked this joke when the flies were circling an officious traffic cop and nobody was imitating anybody's accent.

Yes, it's just so like Obama to mock people by speaking with an accent in monosylabic words, isn't it?

Hint: Humor works best when not forced. Trying to adapt this thing (which was obviously written for a different context) and slap it on a guy with a reputation for being courteous and articulate really doesn't work. If you're going to mock Obama, at least do it in a fashion that addresses his particular strenghts and weaknesses.

But I imagine that trying to explain this to right-wing forwarders is about as useful as trying to explain the concept of irony to same.

I assume in an attempt to showcase the president's efforts to reduce STDs and fetal alcohol syndrome.

This is so mindnumbingly teh stoopedz that I can't even be bothered to come up w/a seethingly snarky comment. Not worth the effort. NEXT!

Huh? Wha? Uh... teh stoopedz is right. It's really a giant reach to somehow cobble this into a "joke" about BHO being mean to the cowboy constituency. Good luck w/that.

Because... that's how Barack Obama acts... never?

No, Drew, bc, in actuality, that's probably how W spoke when he was in Crawford pretending to clear brush, but for W, speaking with a fake TX accent & using monosyllabic words wasn't such a stretch...

But as others have said here & elsewhere, righties love to project onto BHO what they or their leaders actually do.

Are circle flies sort of like the right wing circle jerks that occur on most Sunday morning political pundit talk shows (no matter what the network, but esp at Fake Noise)???
