Fw: Fwd: Fw: They Are All Crooks

I know you love politicians as much as I do! Pass this along and join the
national "tea party" on April 15th.....

>
> The Obama Democrats: By The Number
>
>
>
> $34,000: the amount of federal taxes that Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner (D) failed to pay during his employment at the International Monetary Fund despite receiving extra compensation and explanatory brochures that described his tax liabilities.
>
> $75,000: the amount of money that the head of the powerful tax-writing committee, Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY), was forced to report on his taxes after the discovery that he had not reported income from a Costa Rican rental property. His excuses for the failure started with blaming his wife, then his accountant and finally the fact that he didn't speak Spanish.
>
> $93,000: the amount of petty cash each Congressional representative voted to give themselves in January 2009 during the height of an economic meltdown.
>
> $133,900: the amount Fannie Mae "invested" in Chris Dodd (D-CT), head of the powerful Senate Banking Committee, presumably to repel oversight of the GSE prior to its meltdown. Said meltdown helped touch off the cu rrent economic crisis. In only a few years time, Fannie also "invested" over $105,000 in then-Senator Barack Obama.
>
> $140,000: the amount of back taxes and interest that Cabinet nominee Tom Daschle (D) was forced to cough up after the vetting process revealed significant, unexplained tax liabilities.
>
> $356,000: the approximate amount of income and deductions that Daschle (D) was forced to report on his amended 2005 and 2007 tax returns after being caught cheating on his taxes. This includes $255,256 for the use of a car service, $83,333 in unreported income, and $14,963 in charitable contributions.
>
> $800,000: the amount of "sweetheart" mortgages Senate Banking Chairman Chris Dodd (D-CT) received from Countrywide Financial, the details for which he has refused to release details despite months of promises to do so. Countrywide was once the nation's largest mortgage lender and linked to Govern ment-Sponsored Entities like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Their meltdown precipitated the current financial crisis. Just days ago in Pennsylvania , Countrywide was forced to pay $150,000,000 in mortgage assistance following "a state investigation that concluded that Countrywide relaxed its underwriting standards to sell risky loans to consumers who did not understand them and could not afford them."
>
> $1,000,000: the estimated amount of donations by Denise Rich, wife of fugitive Marc Rich, to Democrat interests and=2 0the William J. Clinton Foundation in an apparent quid pro quo deal that resulted in a pardon for Mr. Rich. The pardon was reviewed and blessed by Obama Attorney General and then Deputy AG Eric Holder, despite numerous requests by government officials to turn it down.
>
> $12,000,000: the amount of TARP money provided to community bank “OneUnited” despite the fact that it did not qualify for funds, and was "under attack from its regulators for allegations of poor lending practices and executive-pay abuses." It turns out that Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), a key contributor to the Fannie Mae meltdown, just happens to be married to one of the bank's ex-directors.
>
> $23,500,000: The upper range of net worth Rep. Allan Mollohan (D-WV) accumulated in four years time according to The Washington Post through earmarks of "tens of millions of dollars to groups associated with his own business partners."
>
> $2,000,000,000: ($2 billion) the approximate amount of money that House Appropriations Chairman David Obey (D-WI) is earmarking related to his son's lobbying efforts. Craig Obey is "a top lobbyist for the nonprofit group" that would receive a roughly $2 billion component of the "Stimulus" package.
>
> $3,700,000,000: ($3.7 billion) not to be outdone, this is the estimated value of various defense contracts awarded to a company controlled by the husband of Rep. Diane Feinstein (D-CA). Despite an obvious conflict-of-interest as "a member of the Military Construction Appropriations subcommittee, Sen. Feinstein voted for appropriations worth billions to her husband's firms ."
>
> $4,190,000,000: ($4.19 billion) the amount of money in the so-called "Stimulus" package devoted to fraudulent voter registration ACORN group under the auspices of "Community Stabilization Activities". ACORN is currently the subject of a RICO suit in Ohio.
>
> $1,646,000,000,000 ($1.646 trillion): the approximate amount of annual United States exports endangered by the "Stimulus" package, which provides a "Buy American" stricture. According to international trade experts, a "US-EU trade war looms", which could result in a worldwide economic depression reminiscent of that touched off by the protectionist Smoot-Hawley Act.

Can I add a couple?

$96,000: the amount 51-year-old senator John Ensign (R) asked his elderly mommy and daddy to pay his mistress so she'd go away. They did.

$43,000,000: the amount the Bush administration paid the Taliban government in Afghanistan in 2001 for poppy eradication.

No relevance; I just thought it was fun.

LOOK OUT! It's ACORN! The liberal shadow government! They'll change your registration to the Green party! They'll steal your ballot and write in Kucinich! They'll feast on the still-beating hearts of your pets as they perform their Satanic rituals!

47: The number of Republican scandals between January and August 2007.

$9 billion: Reconstruction money we lost in Iraq in 2004 and have no idea where it went.

$915.1 billion: Money allocated to the Iraq and Afghanistan wars since 2001.

0: Weapons of mass destruction we've found.

That $4 billion for "community stabilization" appears to have been from a House version of the bill. That part did not make it into the final bill.

But the final bill was signed a month after the Democrats took office, so maybe the e-mail's author went Galt for two weeks before writing it.

The "Buy American" provision was also stripped out of the stimulus package. And while several items on this list *are* true and damning (as a liberal Californian, I'd love to boot Fienstein out of office), the author dilutes his point by working in bad facts and ACORN fear mongering.

0 - the number of times that Osama bin Laden was found & tried during the Bush Admin

$44K - the amount of money that John Sanford used out of public funds to travel first class on his various "trips"

$50kajillion - the amount of money that Dick Cheney made from kick-backs from Halliburton, KBR, etc, for tossing no-bid contracts their way during the Iraq war

32 (I made it up but something along these lines) - number of US soldiers killed bc of faulty electrical wiring, etc, in Iraq done by Halliburton subcontractors

Elevnty billion - kickbacks received by Dick Cheney for allowing powerful oil lobbyists write the so-called "energy policy" during the Bush Admin

I mean, really, we could do this all day, and if I had the time, I could look up real stats of "goodies" on Bush & Cheney, but oh let us not forget:

158 (again made up but probably in the ballpark): number of laws broken by the Bush Admin, such as torture & illegal wiretapping, illegal house break-ins, etc

0 - number of people caught by the Bush Admin for the anthrax scares after 9/11 (the dude they were about to bust, who committed suicide, almost definitely was not guilty)

AND WE HAD TO ENDURE IT FOR EIGHT LONG YEARS & HAVE TO CONTINUE TO ENDURE REPUBLICAN WHINING TO THIS DAY....

Where were these people during the drain of money that was the F22?

Oh, right, they were too busy jerking it over how many brown kids it could kill per hour before crashing in a field due to rain.

"And, unlike Republicans, Democrats appear to be above the law."

doot doot doot last 8 years huh never happened never had warrentless wiretaps never had freedoms stripped away by patriot act BUT THAT OBAMMER!!!11

Hey now, lets not drag the F22 into this. Its a damn fine piece of machinery. Expensive to be sure (though part of that is that we didn't build enough to bring the unit cost down) and not necessary given the adversaries we currently face, but nice to have nonetheless.

And it actually couldn't kill that many brown people, since its mission is air to air combat against a mythical Russian Air Force. The F-35, that's your people killer.

bendk, you don't need to be above the law when your Attorney General refuses to enforce it.

Quite honestly, you are all full of sh*t. It doesn't matter if you are a right-winger or a Liberal check that - progressive. You are all the same.

The only opinion you are willing to hear is your own. When Bush was in office the liberals pissed an moaned for 8 years straight. Now with Obama the right-wingers took over the crying.

While all of this has continued the politicians continue to rape and pillage the American people.

@ Anon

You're missing the point of this website.

This isn't about reasoned political debate. This is about the LACK of reasoned political debate, as embodied in this treasure trove of right wing emails. Some are silly, some are sappy, but most are either bald faced lies or a painful tangling and twisting of meager facts to fit a hard core right wing agenda. Right wingers (not all, but many) send this crap around and around the internet for years.

They use it to smear their opponents, to spread misinformation which damages any chance at real, rational debate, and in general to drive us crazy.

Contrary to your assertion, most of us (myself included) will be glad to engage in real political debate. Keyword: REAL. No whining about birth certificates or BS stories which never really happened. No ruthless jingoism or putting false words into the mouths of famous figures, living or dead. And for god sakes, no multicolored Comic Sans font!
