FW: A Lesson on Socialism

A PRETTY GOOD ANALOGY!

A Lesson on Socialism.

An economics professor at Texas Tech said he had never failed a single student before but had, once, failed an entire class. The class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer. The professor then said ok, we will have an experiment in this class on socialism.

All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.

After the first test the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. But, as the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too, so they studied little.
The second test average was a D. No one was happy.

When the third test rolled around, the average was an F.

The scores never increased as bickering, blame, and name calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for anyone else.

To their great surprise, all failed. The professor told them that socialism would ultimately fail because the harder it is to succeed the greater the reward, but when a government takes all the reward away, no one will try so no one will succeed.

Uh-huh, because the student body at Texas Tech would embrace a class based on Socialism. If it was Mills or Reed or somewhere, maybe.

Next I want to hear about the same professor's experiment with a Libertarian class.

In conclusion, we need to give tax cuts to the top 0.1% (i.e. the very wealthy), or society will collapse!

lol not understanding the difference between socialism and communism!

Because not letting the poor starve to death is exactly the same as redistributing wealth so everyone has exactly the same amount of money.

These idiots still don't get that we have LOTS of socialized stuff going on in our society, and that it's only the obscenely wealthy who really are not into paying for it:

1. Interstate highway system, as well as all roads
2. Until recently, most, if not all, utilities (which then got worse when privatized)
3. Social Security (and many of the idiotic teabaggers were running around w/signs hostiley accusing BHO of 'stealing' their social security whilst simultaneously ranting about the scourge of socialism)
4. Medicare
5. Police forces
6. Teachers and public school system (although the wealthy are working hard to tear this down)
7. Fire fighters
etc.

GASP - how very EVIL all of the above are, and they certainly taken away MY incentive to work hard... don't know about you...

drrrrrrrrrrr

And also this never really happened anywhere.

Wasn't the professor a communist dictator instead of a Socialist?????
I never saw where the professor was elected and where he had some sort of Congress or Parliament. There are other ways to succeed besides the acquisition of money. Succeeding in a certain skill or knowledge, spiritual journeys, having a family, being a great parent, contributing to society, etc. If Socialism was really like that and didn't work, then, everyone in Sweden would be living in shacks and caves while babbling to themselves; but, we all know that certainly isn't the case. Sweden is further advanced than the States on so many issues that it would take two days or more to go through the list.
This e-mail forward and everything else on this page is just a bunch of Bible thumping, southern redneck, crap.

I would like to see the experiment with a Libertarian class too!!

You guys do good work exposing the ignorance of these e-mail forwards. Keep up the good work!!!
