FW: Presidential qualifications

I’m just sure this is true. -dave

-----begin forward-----

In civics class, the students were discussing the qualifications to be president of the United States. Pretty simple....candidates must be a natural born citizen and at least 35 years of age.

One girl in the class immediately started in on how unfair the requirement is that the candidate must be a natural born citizen. Her opinion was that this requirement prevented many capable individuals from becoming president.

The class was just taking it in and letting her rant, but everyone's jaw hit the floor when she wrapped up her argument by asking...

"What makes a natural born citizen any more qualified to lead this country than one born by C-section?"

Unrelated, but... I have a student, Tony, who's Greek. He went back there to visit over winter break. When classes resumed, he was absent for the first three days. Everyone was asking about him. Finally, my co-teacher came to class one day and said, "I heard what happened to Tony. He's stuck in Greece." (Apparently his plane had been overbooked or something.) Immediately, another student, Jerry, asked, "What kind?" If I hadn't been laughing so hard I would've replied, "Bacon."
