FW: OBAMA'S CHURCH

"...Here is a real beauty I received this morning from my aunt and uncle. I love them, but they are total right wing nut-jobs. It made me so mad I was non-functional for a couple of hours.
The author of the email admits "Parts of this are true..." So doesn't that suggest that the other parts are not true? So what! Let's forward it around anyway!
Talk about spinning "facts" to meet your own sinister agenda.
Enjoy."

I don’t think we want this guy either! Dp

As I’ve said elsewhere, in my view, the most alarming parts of Obama’s Church’s “10 Point Vision” are 4 and 10.

“4. A congregation with a ‘non-negotiable’ COMMITMENT TO AFRICA” (emphasis in the original).

If I offer to sell you my car for $30,000 and I tell you that the price is “non-negotiable” that means that either you pay me $30,000 or there’s no deal–take it or leave it. “Non-negotiable” leaves no room for ambiguity. “Non-negotiable” means non-negotiable.

Therefore, since there’s NO DISPUTE that he’s a member of the “congregation”, and that the congregation has a “non-negotiable COMMITMENT TO AFRICA”, it is impossible for him to faithfully take his Oath of Office as a United States Senator, President, or any other public office for that matter. Toward that end, there can be little doubt that the interests of the United States and the interests of any one of the nations of Africa, or any other nation, are perpetually in dispute, at one level or another. By definition, you can’t have both a non-negotiable commitment to the United States and to the continent of Africa.

If the words “Black” and “Africa” were replaced on Obama’s Church’s website with “White” and “Germany”, this man would be labeled a “White Separtist” by the media, and his political career would immediatly be over.

“10. A congregation working towards ECONOMIC PARITY”

By definition, economic parity means communism–plainly.

So, in sum, Mr. Obama belongs to a Black Separatist Church that is working toward communism. It’s their words, not mine.

This ought to do a lot to allay the fears of people who believe that Obama is a left-wing radical (sarcasm intended).

Why is it that Obama attacks have a Wile E. Coyote feel to them? They could get him on his stance on the issues, but instead they try to attack using arguments that are easily disprovable. I just don't understand. The mouth-breathers who might actually believe this stuff are probably also those who won't vote for a black man for President.

Rex,

Perhaps you need to read some history books.

There are many congregations (white, black, etc.) which have non-negotiable commitments to fighting poverty, disease, war, famine, etc.

What's that? All those are ills occuring on the African continent?

Oh, dear. You're attacking Christians for being ... Christian! I've never heard of a Christian church that didn't offer up its charity to help those less fortunate, whether they be in Africa or elsewhere. Even Pres. Bush has pledged a good deal of economic aid to African nations.

As for the rest of your baloney -- wanting to bring the poor up out of poverty is hardly "communist". It's called compassion, you might try a little sometime. It's uplifting.

Finally, all the white people who attend services at Trinity United Church of Christ will be interested to know you suddenly have to be black instead.... What a load of bupkis.

Thank you, Rob_n.

The people promulgating this crap make me so angry I can never respond in a productive way. Thank you for responding to that.
